My love for City and Colour is insane!! I mean nothing beats melodic
acoustic and folk music, am I right? Now excuse my ignorance, but up until
yesterday afternoon when faced with a task to research up on a hardcore punk
band, I hadn't realized that Dallas Green, the vocalist, guitarist and
songwriter of the former band Alexisonfire is actually THEEEE City and color
himself! Mind blown. Excuse me hardcore punk fans but this is all new to me.
Then it got me thinking, how does a singer go from such extremes? From
screaming till blue in the face to singing songs chilled enough to put one to
sleep. Maybe all that screaming and jumping around like a cat being baptized
tired the poor guy out, resulting in a slight change of direction. Nonetheless,
I'm glad he decided to stick with acoustic and folk as a genre, it's easier on
the ears and very easy to chill out to. Don't get me wrong, i'm actually starting to enjoy some hardcore punk.
