As I stood front row, blocking
about ten people behind me, I felt complete and utter euphoria. No I wasn’t
high or on drugs, yes I may have had one two many shooters but never the less I
was utterly content. In fact I was more than content, as I stood there watching
ISO produce music that made my heart flutter, I stared up into the dark blue
and purple sky that had been invaded by night and saw the tiniest dust
particles floating around so gracefully, so peacefully and I became entirely
engrossed in my surroundings, I felt apart of nature. As silly as it sounds
I’ve never felt such peace. People were jumping and screaming all around me
losing their minds yet I just stood there staring at these dust particles and then
back to the lead singer who was lost in his own world entirely. I became very
observant, really focusing on the people around me. There is nothing more
beautiful than a smile, and everyone was smiling. Laughter and singing filled
the air, hands rose to the chorus while feet stomped to the beat. It then hit
me, it doesn’t matter what genre of music makes you happy whether it be punk,
rock, indie, heavy metal, Kwaito, jazz, music brings people together, music is
a kind of love all in itself, it makes people happy, it makes people beautiful,
without music a huge element of joy would be absent in the world.
This blog is dedicated to the Hardcore Punk and Kwaito fans :) Over the next 6 weeks or so i shall be exploring the possibility of a new genre, I'm kinda thinking something along the lines of if Punk had to meet Kwaito and they fell head over heels in love and had a baby.... and its name was, oh i don't know... Kwaicore... what would this soulful creature sound like?...mmm. please share and link my articles if you find them interesting! I'd really appreciate it!
